Hey Jackie,
In accordance with your April 20, 2020 letter regarding the Initial Sediment Boil Evaluation at the subject site, I am
providing the requested monthly update via this email.
7-23.24-20 Significant rainfall
Significant rainfall occurred on 7-23-20 and 7-24-20 in Kernersville (greater than 2" of rain in 24 hour period). Walnut
Cove reported over 2" during this period but other areas did not. The Rural Hall station did not report on these
days. Therefore, planned to perform a documented cap inspection.
7-28-20 Performed Q3 2020 inspection of cap and boil area.
The boil issue was unchanged. The silt fencing and erosion control booms were still working properly. No service was
needed. No other problems were found with the cap. The cap did need to be mowed.
8-17-20 Mow cap and repair site access road.
Started to mow cap and repair access road on 8-17-20. Weather permitting, all work should be completed no later than
8-24-20.
8-25,26-20 ERM implement approved excavation plan
ERM will come to the site at around 9:00 am on 8-25-20 to start the planned excavation work in order to determine the
cause of the sediment boil.
