The information submitted for the enclosed plan has been reviewed and
the following comments are made:
1. The site is approved for landf filling in accordance with G.S. 130-166.
2. Construction of the main dike parallel to Beaverdam Creek is approved
with the following conditions:
a. A drainage swale along the toe of the outside dike should be
constructed and channeled to the sediment basin..
b. A gravel check dam should be constructed as part of the dam for
the sediment control basin.
3. Upon construction and field inspection, a decision will be made if
any measurements are necessary to control erosion that may result
from the diversion ditches.
Based on the fact that Champion Papers has eliminated most of the free
water from the waste and recent discussions, it is understood that a new land-
fill design will be forthcoming. This agency will be glad to provide technical
assistance in this area. It is also necessary that a complete operational plan
be submitted and a permit issued before this area can be used.
