Re: Closure Letter, Haywood County LCID Landfill, Permit Number 44A, and
Construction and Demolition Debris Processing Facility, Permit Number 44-09-TP,
Haywood County
Dear Mr. Cogdill:
The Solid Waste Section (the Section) has reviewed the information submitted to document
proper closure of the referenced landfill and processing facility. The Section has determined that
the information is sufficient to determine that both facilities have met the requirements for
closure.
An inspection by Tim Jewett and Jim Patterson, representing the Section, determined that all
equipment and waste have been removed from the processing facility, and both areas have been
properly covered, graded, and vegetation established.
Haywood County shall provide a copy of this closure letter to the current landowner. It is the
landowner's responsibility to ensure that when the land on which the landfill is sold, leased,
conveyed, or transferred in any manner, the deed or other instrument of transfer shall contain in
the description section in no smaller type than that used in the body of the deed or instrument, a
statement that the property has been used as a landfill and a reference by book and page to the
recordation of the notification.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at (828) 296-4703.
Sincerely,
