Dear Ms. Liggins:
On behalf of LG1810 Fordham Blvd, LLC, The John R. McAdams Company,
Inc. (McAdams) is submitting the enclosed Brownfields Property Application to
add the two properties addressed as 120 and 126 Old Durham Road, Chapel
Hill, North Carolina (herein referred to as the "subject site") to an existing
Brownfields property (North Carolina Brownfields Program [NCBP] Project I.D.
20078-16-68). In 2016, LG1810 Fordham Blvd, LLC submitted a Brownfields
Property Application for the properties addressed as 130 Old Durham Road and
1806 Fordham Boulevard, located directly adjacent to and across the road from
the subject site. The NCBP accepted the application and assigned Project
Identification Number 20078-16-68. As shown in the attached Phase I and Phase
II environmental assessment reports, impacts associated with a petroleum
underground storage tank (UST) release on the 1806 Fordham Boulevard site
have also been identified on the subject site in groundwater. Aware of these
impacts, LG1810 Fordham Blvd, LLC proceeded to acquire the subject site in
January 2017 and with approval from the NCBP, are looking to extend NCBP
Project Identification Number 20078-16-68 to include the 120 and 126 Old
Durham properties. Ultimately, LG1810 Fordham Blvd, LLC plans to redevelop
all four properties and lease them to a prominent grocery store chain.
The enclosed NCBP Application is not a request for a new Brownfields
Project, rather it is to request an extension of NCBP Project Identification
Number 20078-16-68 to include the adjacent parcels addressed as 120 and
126 Old Durham Road. Included herein is one electronic and one hard copy of
the application for the 120 and 126 Old Durham Road Properties along with the
