As requested, here's supporting information for MW-8R and MW-8D at North Meck Landfill. Well installation logs are
attached; the log for MW-8D is pretty barebones due to using the existing 6" well casing and open borehole below the
casing, rather than drilling a new well. I've also attached a photo of the string mentioned in the notes for MW-
8D. Please note this work was completed in 2018.
MW-8D
8/30 — 8/31 and 9/4 — Sunny 80'
• WL is at 71.24 ft bgs from TOC
• Well depth is supposed to be 122 ft bgs, WLM says well depth is near 90 ft bgs. WE will air hammer to 90 to see
if we can break through the build up
• Air hammer blew out a wad of string — must have been the obstruction at 90 ft bgs
• Pieces of rock are coming up with water at 123 ft bgs — Bedrock at 123 ft bgs
• Boring complete at 123 ft bgs
o Screen: 123-108 ft bgs
o Sand: 123-96 ft bgs
o Bentonite: 96-94 ft bgs
o Grout: 94-0 ft bgs — pour two barrels, let dry overnight then poured the rest
• WL is 73.19 ft bgs
• Well was developed by Agustina Cortina on 9/7
MW-8R
9/4 - 9/7 — Sunny 90'
• Boring Log:
0 0-5 ft bgs: dark orange/tan silt, slightly moist, some clay pieces
0 6-8 ft bgs, beige silt with more, bigger chunks of highly compacted silt, dry
o Elite puts water down well to cool off auger
0 8-11 ft bgs: thick dark beige, wet (due to water being poured down well)
0 11-14 ft bgs: brown clayey silt, with big pieces of clay, very moist
0 14-16 ft bgs: hit very compacted soil, difficult to drill through ( put water down well)
0 16-25 ft bgs: light beige, clayey silt, very wet (due to water poured down hole)
o Very difficult to drill with augers past 25 ft bgs. Called it bedrock at 25 ft bgs.
■ Drillers on past boring logs said bedrock was at 50-70 ft
o Pulled out 7" augers, put in 10" augers set 6" PVC casing at 25 ft bgs

o Pieces of grey rock fragments surfacing at 61 ft bgs
o Pieces of softer brown rock at 73 ft bgs (could possibly be a fracture)
o Reached 90 ft bgs and have no seen much water. Drilled to 101 ft bgs
• Boring complete at 101 ft bgs
o Screen: 101-61 ft bgs
o Sand: 61-44 ft bgs
o Bentonite: 44-42 ft bgs
o Grout: 42-0 ft bgs
• Well development is completed by Matt Ginther
