OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
1) The letters for the town name were less than three (3) inches in height. This is a violation of Rule .0835(b) that states “All permitted septage management firms shall display lettering on each side of every pumper vehicle operated by the firm. The lettering shall include the firm name, town name, phone number, and septage management firm permit number as shown on the firm application. All lettering required by this Rule on the
pumper vehicle shall be no less than three inches in height and legible, distinguishable from the background, and not obstructed from view. Identification shall not be removable (i.e. no magnetic signs).”
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

1) Pumper vehicle(s) inspected:

2) All required lettering was on both sides of the pump truck. The letters for the town name were less than
three (3) inches in height. The letters for the Firm Name, Permit #, and phone number were all three (3)
inches or greater in height. Shannon said that they were in the process of modifying the decal for the
firm name. Will probably update all the lettering. This needs to be done as soon as possible. When
done, please email me updated pictures of both sides of the truck showing the lettering. Please include
a photo of each side with a ruler to show that the letters are 3 inches or greater in height. Be sure that
the lettering for the town name is 3 inches or greater in height. Updated pictures received on
02/18/2020. See pictures on next page.
3) The tank was made of metal and appeared to be structurally sound. No signs of weakness noticed with
the tank.
4) Tank bolted to the frame of the truck.
5) Access ports appeared to be in working order and properly sealed.
6) Valve appeared to be in working order. Caps present on hose ports.
7) No leaks noticed.
