ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1) Inspected three (3) above ground steel tanks used for the storage and treatment of septage.
2) Access road was in good shape.
3) Please make sure that there are “No Trespassing” signs present along access roads leading to the facility
as required by Rule .0838(k).
4) No leaks noticed from the tanks. However, the upright 8,000 gallons steel tank has rust streaks running
down as the bottom cone section. See picture below. The rust streaks are an indication of potential
holes starting to develop at the bottom of the tank. Areas may need to be patched. Be sure to keep
monitoring.
5) Tanks accessible for inspection. Other than the tanks being next to each other, there was an area of 5
feet around the tanks free of debris and vegetation to allow for the inspection of the tanks.
6) Some grease septage (chunks) on the ground by the 8,000 gallons steel tank. Please be sure to clean up
any septage that might get on the ground. Septage should be transferred to and from the tanks in such a
manner as to prevents leaks or spills of septage onto the ground surface or exterior surface of the
detention system, including septage in pipes used for transferring waste to and from vehicles as required
by Rule .0838(j). The septage that was on the ground was cleaned up that day.
7) No odor or vector issues noticed at the tanks.
8) Will review what records that might be needed during the next site visit. Record keeping requirements
were noted in the previous inspection.

tank. Potential holes could be starting to develop.
