STATUS OF PERMIT:
A Permit to Operate a Septage Detention and Treatment Facility was issued to Environmental Technology, Inc. on
August 28, 2014. This permit shall expire on April 24, 2017. A modification request has been received by the Solid
Waste Section and is currently under review.

PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT:
Comprehensive Inspection

OBSERVED VIOLATIONS
None
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and
any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

1. This inspection was performed in order to facilitate a meeting with Mr. Southern to discuss proposed
modifications to the facility treatment process.
2. The facility is permitted for the storage or treatment of grease trap pumpings.
3. Waste water from the facility is discharged into the sanitary sewer system.
4. Dewatered solids from the facility are disposed of at the Hanes Mill Road Landfill (Permit #34-02).
5. “No Trespassing” signs were posted on the exterior of the building at the time of inspection.
6. No objectionable odors were observed outside of the facility.
7. It appeared that the required setbacks were being maintained.
8. The receiving/processing tanks appeared to be structurally sound. Please ensure that facility operations take
place in a sanitary manner.
9. It appeared that facility operations were being carried out as detailed in the approved Permitting and Operations
Manual for the facility.
10. No spills were observed on the ground outside of the building.
11. All waste treatment was maintained to the interior of the building.
12. During the inspection, Mr. Southern detailed the proposed changes to the facility treatment process. New
equipment installed to facilitate these changes had not yet been placed into service. Mr. Southern explained that
the facility would not place the new equipment into service until approval is obtained from the Division of Waste
Management.
