On January 5, 1982 and May 26, 1982, I inspected the Clay County
Landfill, Hayesville, NC. This letter is to notify you that the follow-
ing violations of the N. C. Solid Waste Management Rules were recorded
on these two consecutive inspections:
1. Failure to restrict solid waste to smallest area feasible
and compact as densely as practical. DHS Rule .05050)
2. Failure to cover solid waste with at least six inches of suit-
able compacted cover. DHS Rule .0505(4)
We are requiring that you comply with the above -mentioned rules con-
sistently on a daily basis. We will inspect this site for compliance on
or soon after June 14, 1982.
