Engineering License No. C-1598 February 6, 2020 Mr. Mark Petermann North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Division of Waste Management – Underground Storage Tank Section 1646 Mail Service Center Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-1646 Re: Groundwater Monitoring Letter Report 7532 US Highway 421 Lillington, Harnett County, North Carolina NCDEQ Incident No. 42105 ATC Project No. SLP4210508 Dear Mr. Petermann: ATC Associates of North Carolina, P.C. (ATC) is pleased to submit the results of a groundwater sampling event conducted on January 2, 2009, at the 7532 US Highway 421 in Lillington, Harnett, North Carolina. A site topographic map is included as Figure 1. Currently on-site is a single-story building occupied by Airmedics Heating & Cooling. A site map is included as Figure 2. The sampling event was performed based on a December 17, 2019, Task Authorization (TA- 08) by the Trust Fund Branch of the Underground Storage Tank (UST) Section, North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ). This work is being performed as part of State Lead Contract #N17004 between NCDEQ and ATC. On January 2, 2009, ATC mobilized to the site to collect a groundwater sample from monitoring well MW-1. Field notes from the monitoring event are included in Appendix A. The monitoring well sample was collected in laboratory-supplied, preserved containers; entered into chain of custody control; placed on ice; and shipped to North Carolina-accredited SGS North America Inc. (SGS) in Scott, Louisiana. The samples were analyzed by EPA Method 6200B for volatile organic compounds. The analytical report is included in Appendix B. The analytical results were compared to the North Carolina Title 15A, NCAC, Subchapter 2L, Part .0202 (2L Standards) for groundwater and Gross Contamination Levels (GCLs). Based on the results, naphthalene, 1,2,3-trichloropropane, and 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene were present above the 2L Standard in MW-1. No constituent was detected in excess of the Gross Contamination Level (GCL). Well construction details and groundwater elevation data for monitoring well MW-1 are included as Table 1. Monitoring well analytical data is included as Table 2. Natural attenuation parameters are included as Table 3.
