STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
.0842(a)(17) in regards to the weed issues last fall this office did not receive a copy of the written evaluation for
the site visit by your regional agronomist or extension agent as instructed on the last audit of 10/10/2019.
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
.0842(a)(17) Approved nutrient management plans shall be followed. The fescue on both fields is very tall and has not
been harvested in a timely fashion per the approved nutrient management plan. Mr. Cheek stated that the fields
would be cut next week. No apparent signs of land application on either field. In accordance with Rule .0842(a)(18)
no land application may occur on either field until the hay is harvested and removed from the field. Also the field
rotation outlined in the nutrient management shall be followed.
Permit Condition 18. Field separations in the nutrient management plan and all pertinent setbacks shall be clearly located
on the site. Boundaries of the permitted septage land application fields shall be clearly marked on the ground. Only one
field post was clearly visible on Field 3, the others were missing or cut down. Reestablish all field markers on Field
3 in accordance with the required setbacks & site map.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The required signs are posted and the access road is adequate.
2. It appears that the approved setbacks are being met but were not measured at this time. No sign of land
application outside the permitted boundaries.
3. No apparent sign of recent or heavy application. No odors noted.
4. Field markers appeared adequate on Field 2.
5. Follow the advice of your regional agronomist or extension agent in regards to weed control.
6. Soil samples shall be taken by the permit holder this fall.

enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
