This is in response to your letter dated 5-29-02 to Mr. Gene Judd and a conversation
you had with Spectrum Vice President Larry Boone regarding the tank removal project
that took place on 8-20-96.
A soil sample was taken after the contaminated soil was removed at a depth of
approximately 7-8 feet deep. The soil sample was less 10 parts per million Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbon EPA Method 3550 and 5030.
The contaminated soil was removed to our shop and became part of our Drop Box B-3
load. The drop box was emptied and shipped to DeBruhl Environmental, Charlotte, NC
on 8-22-96 in three separate shipments (see total daily weights sheet and DeBruhl
disposal manifest). Since the Judd contaminated soil was from a UST heating oil release,
no confirming soil analysis was performed.
Enclosed please find a sketch map of the approximate tank locations. Also include are
two photographs showing the tanks and their location and the final new addition that was
added to the original house.
In your letter dated 5-20-02, you requested a LSA Report to be submitted. With our
portable drilling rig, we may be able to get within 15 feet of the tank cavity to install a
monitoring well but we would be in Mr. Judd's new patio area. After reviewing this letter
with the drawing and photographs would you please advise us how you wish us to
proceed from here.
