Charlotte, NC 28211 362-2883 Location Above Address Summary Spectrum -Nationwide Environmental, Inc. was contracted to remove two home heating oil underground storage tanks for Mr. Judd on 8-20-96. The tanks were 550 gallon heating oil tanks. The tanks were empty. Spectrum -Nationwide Environmental, Inc. removed the tanks for disposal (see Certificate of Disposal). Contaminated soil was evident under the tanks (PID readings of 20-150 ppm). 10.18 tons of contaminated soil were removed from the excavation until the PID readings were less than 10 ppm (see disposal manifest). A soil sample was taken, after the contaminated soil was removed, to determine if contaminated soil was still present in the excavation. The soil sample was less 10 parts per million (ppm) Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) EPA Method 3550 (see sample #1 received 8-20-96). The NCDEHNR action level is 40 ppm TPH. At no time was the ground water encountered or impacted during the excavation activity. The area is serviced by CMUD for water and sewer service. The excavated area was back filled. Stephen M.
