(WR) has completed this Letter Report to document the groundwater sampling event described in our proposal number TA-03 for the above referenced site approved by the Federal & State Lead Program on July 16, 2019. Groundwater Monitoring WithersRavenel mobilized to the subject site on July 24, 2019 for the purposes of gauging, purging and sampling monitoring wells MW-2, MW-4 and MW-8. Prior to sampling of the monitoring wells as described below, each was gauged using a decontaminated electronic product/water interface probe, to determine whether free product was present in the well(s). Results of well gauging are shown in the following table: Monitoring wells MW-4 and MW-8 were purged with separate, dedicated disposable polyethylene (PE) bailers. Following purging and adequate recharge of groundwater within the wells, samples were decanted directly into pre-preserved laboratory grade sample containers provided by Prism Laboratories, Inc. (Prism) for analysis of VOCs by Standard Method (SM) 6200B. Monitoring well MW-3 was not sampled as the well contained free product. Former McCoy’s Store Letter Report – Groundwater Monitoring September 2019 Page 2 of 2 Laboratory Results Analytical results for groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells MW-4 and MW-8 on July 24, 2019 showed the following: •Numerous compounds were reported in the samples obtained from MW-4 and MW-8 at concentrations in excess of their respective 2L Standards. •Benzene was reported in MW-4 and MW-8 at concentrations exceeding the Gross Contaminant Level (GCL) for the compound. •1,2-Dribromoethane (EDB) was reported in the sample from MW-8 at a level exceeding the GCL for the compound. Analytical results from this groundwater sampling event are shown on Figure 1 and summarized in Table B-4 (Abbreviated). Field notes and site photos for the July 24, 2019 event are included as Attachment A and the laboratory analytical report is provided as Attachment B. WR appreciates the opportunity to be of service to the Federal & State Lead Program.
