March 2020 Monthly CAP Report
Dear Ms. Drummond:
Mecklenburg County conducted monthly corrective action plan monitoring at the closed
Holbrooks Road Landfill in March 19, 2020 in accordance with the approved corrective
action plan dated November 2, 2018. This report details the results of that monitoring
event.
Samples were collected from nine (9) landfill gas probes (HP-3, HP-4, HP-8R, HP-9,
HP15R, HP- 16R, HP-18R, HP-24, HP-25, 17IP-26 and HP-27) , nine (9) passive trench
vents (MV4, MV-2, MV-3, MV4, MV-5, MV-6, MV-7, MV-8 and MV-9), one on site
building (Building), the passive flare landfill gas system (SYS2) and the active landfill
gas system (SYST, GWO1 and GW02).
Results of the landfill gas extraction systems are shown in Table 1. System was operating
normally. The Landfill Gas Monitoring Data Form is also attached. The levels of landfill
gas in property line well HP- 15R have dropped below the LEL since the activation of the
landfill gas extraction system.
