Television manufacturers shall maintain compliance with North Carolina General Statutes 130A-309.130 through 130A-309.142, "Discarded Computer Equipment and Television Management."
The Electronics Management Program was implemented to protect public health and the environment by requiring manufacturers to participate in the responsible recycling of televisions.
Television manufacturers compliance status listed as "In Compliance" have met the criteria of the Statutes. Television manufacturers listed as "Out of Compliance" have not and are
subject to the provisions of the Statutes, including enforcement. As per 130A-309.136(a), 'Requirements Applicable to Retailers" - A manufacturer must not sell, offer for sale, or deliver to retailers for
subsequent sale new computer equipment or televisions unless the manufacturer is in compliance.
North Carolinians are urged to inquire with a manufacturer regarding its compliance status with the Statutes prior to the purchase of a television
and to only purchase a television from manufacturers listed as "In Compliance."
