Pleasant Maintenance Yard 150 Dutch Rd (SR 2604), Mount Pleasant Cabarrus County Incident Number: 14987 Risk Classification: High The UST Section, Division of Waste Management (DWM), Mooresville Regional Office (MRO) received the September 25, 2019 Groundwater Monitoring Report on September 26, 2019 (paper copy received January 17, 2020). The report recommending conducting an additional sampling event of monitoring and supply wells to monitor for temporal trends particularly in monitoring well MW-6R was reviewed and approved on January 21, 2020. The paper report copy will be maintained in the MRO. The electronic copy has been loaded to the electronic document storage system (Laserfiche). The report indicates: • The groundwater flow direction in the shallow aquifer (3 to 25 feet bls) is estimated to be north. • C9-C22 Aromatics were detected at a concentration above 2L Standards in MW-6R. • Compounds were not detected above 2L Standards in the other nine monitoring wells Sampled. • There was no visual evidence of water supply wells within a 500-foot radius of the site. Two water supply wells were visually observed within 1,000 feet to the north of the site (WSW-3 North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality I Division of Waste Management Mooresville Regional Office 1 610 East Center Avenue, Suite 301 1 Mooresville, North Carolina 28115 704.663.1699 & WSW-2. Terracon was unable to collect samples from two water supply wells (during the August 2019 sampling event. • Dutch Buffalo Creek is located approximately 300 feet to the west of the source area. • The on -site buildings are not likely at potential risk for PVI based on the observed groundwater concentration data and average vertical extent of the vadose zone at the site. The next semi-annual groundwater monitoring event shall occur in February 2020 with the Groundwater Monitoring Report submittal due to this office by March 31, 2020. Please note that sampling and correction action must be conducted in accordance with the Guidelines for Assessment and Corrective Action for UST Releases. Failure to comply in the manner and time specified may result in the assessment of civil penalties and/or the use of the other enforcement mechanisms.
