HOW WAS THE FIRE REPORTED AND BY WHOM:
@ 0900 hrs
Landfill Supervisor was talking with one of the operators & noticed small amount of smoke.
LIST ACTIONS TAKEN:
I immediately called Scott (track loader operator) on the radio. He pulled from the fire & covered with dirt to extinguish.
WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE:
DESCRIBE AREA, TYPE, AND AMOUNT OF WASTE INVOLVED:
Small portion in a bucket
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO PREVENT THIS FIRE:
We try to watch for batteries & pool chemical containers because they have potential.
DESCRIBE PLAN OF ACTIONS TO PREVENT FUTURE INCIDENTS:
We will continue to look for potential hazards.
