Hillsborough, NC 27278 Re: Ceased Operation as a Septage Management Firm McBroom’s Septic Systems NCS-001057 Dear Ms. Keeter: On June 2, 2019, The Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section, received from you a written confirmation of the ceased operation of McBroom’s Septic Systems as a septage management firm effective April 20, 2019. Thank you for notifying the Division of the passing away of Mr. McBroom Sr. and the cease operation of McBroom’s Septic Systems as a septage management firm. Effective October 16, 2019, McBroom’s Septic Systems will be removed from our active list of septage management firms. Please note that you may not legally operate a septage management firm in North Carolina without a permit. General Statutes, GS 130A-291.1 (c) No septage management firm shall commence or continue operation that does not have a permit issued by the Department. The permit shall be issued only when the septage management firm satisfies all of the requirements of the rules adopted by the Commission. General Statutes, GS 130A-291.1 (c) Commission. A septage management firm that commences operation without first having obtained a permit shall cease to operate until the firm obtains a permit under this section. You are hereby advised that, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Statute or Regulations.
