The UST Section, Division of Waste Management, Mooresville Regional Office (MRO)
received the September 30, 2019 Monitoring Report on October 3, 2019. The report
recommending continued semi-annual monitoring was reviewed and approved on October 30,
2019. The paper report copy will be maintained in the MRO. The electronic copy has been
loaded to the electronic document storage system (Laserfiche).
The report indicates:
• Dissolved phase petroleum constituent compounds were detected in concentrations
exceeding 2L Standards and/or Interim Maximum Allowable Concentrations
(IMACs) in MW-2, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6, MW-10, DMW-3, DMW-4, and DMW-5
during this reporting period.
• Overall, constituent of concern (COC) concentrations in monitoring wells MW-4,
MW-5, and MW-6 have generally decreased since the previous sampling event in
August 2018. COC concentrations have generally increased in monitoring wells
MW-2, MW-10, DMW-1, DMW-3, DMW-4, and DMW-5 since the previous
sampling event in February 2019. Free product was not detected during this
monitoring period.
• In water supply well WSW-9, no COCs were reported above the laboratory detection
limits.

The next sampling event shall occur in February 2020. The next monitoring report is due
by March 31, 2020. Please note that sampling and correction action must be conducted in
accordance with the Guidelines for Assessment and Corrective Action for UST Releases. Failure
to comply in the manner and time specified may result in the assessment of civil penalties and/or
the use of the other enforcement mechanisms.
