The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. Proper signage was observed at the entrance of the facility.
2. The facility is permitted to receive solid waste within approximately 100 miles around the landfill and solid waste
generated within Burke County.
3. Edge of waste markers were visible.
4. The working face was small and compact. The new cell 3B is ready and the facility will start flooring out the new
cell this week.
5. No unacceptable waste was observed.
6. Discussed with Mr. Geiss extending the slope drain on the east side of slope 3A.
7. Observed several trees on the east slope of 3A at the toe of the slope. Facility staff stated they would be removed.
8. Windblown waste was being picked up during the inspection.
9. All access roads maintained in good condition and the facility applies water to keep the dust down.
10. The facility is scheduled to mow the inactive areas within the next two weeks.
