ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. This facility currently consists of one 4,500-gallon, one 12,000-gallon, one 13,700-gallon, one 24,000-gallon and one 24,500-gallon tanks for the storage of treated and untreated domestic septage (including portable toilet waste) and grease trap pumpings. The five tanks have a total of 78,700 gallon capacity. The current permit
modification was issued for the addition of de-watering boxes. 2. Appropriate signage was in place along the access road.
3. No objectionable odors were observed outside of the facility.
4. It appeared that the setback requirements were being maintained. 5. All tanks at the facility appeared to be structurally sound and not leaking. Access around the tanks has been maintained to allow for inspection. 6. Vectors were not present at the time of inspection nor were objectionable odors observed. 7. The operational logs were reviewed with good documentation of where the liquids are disposed, such as the land application fields or WWTP. The records need to also include where the solids are disposed, such as the compost area or landfill. 8. The company has installed two additional SDTF tanks but they had not hooked up to the system yet. A laser range finder was used in a previous inspection to determine a location that accounts for buffer requirements. A pre-operational inspection with the tanks in place will be required before the permit modification is issued, and the new tanks used.
