The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The facility is permitted to receive wastes generated from within Gaston, Lincoln and Mecklenburg Counties.
2. The current permit and operations plan are kept in the office on -site.
3. The facility is secured by a gate at the entrance to prevent unauthorized access except when an operator is on duty.
4. Proper signage was posted at the entrance gate.
5. Mr. Dwayne McCorkle and/or Mr. Dwayne McCorkle Jr. are the equipment operators and are on -site during
operating hours. Ms. Lorrie Rankin Gordan acts as an attendant for the site and was not present during the
inspection. All haulers check -in with Ms. Gordon with each load.
6. The access roads were well maintained and in good condition.
7. A small amount of incidental unacceptable waste was observed on -site consisting of construction fencing, silt fence
material, and corrugated gutter piping. These items were pointed out to Mr. McCorkle and were removed during
the inspection.
8. Erosion rills on the NE slope of the landfill were pointed out to Mr. McCorkle. Mr. McCorkle stated he will be
applying additional soil to repair the slope and once the slope is graded to a finish grade of 3:1 the area will be
seeded and sowed.
9. Exposed waste was less than % an acre. It was reiterated to facility staff adequate soil cover shall be applied
monthly, or when the active area reaches one acre in size, whichever occurs first per 15A NCAC 13B .0566(4).
10. The state appreciates the facilities efforts in complying with the general statues and rules.
