ADDITIONAL COMMENTS; 1 - The land on which this landfill is located is owned by H.D. Newbern and Finley S. Newbern and recorded in Book
401 page 46 of the Currituck Co. Register of Deeds. 2 - The Notification was recorded on July 24th, 1997 in Book 413 Page 825 of the Currituck County Register of Deeds. 3 – This site had a secure locking gate at the site entrance. Need to replace gate and signage that was also missing. Both of these items are required. 4 – The road is in good condition. Constructed of rock and sand for limited all-weather conditions. 5 – Not grinding material currently. Adequate cover is being added. 6 – Mr. Newbern was asked to put up edge of waste markers as to being able to ensure no solid waste is outside of the site footprint (less than 2 acres) of this Notified site. If waste is outside of the edge of waste markers, grade to become in compliance or an Individual Permit would be required. Markers have been installed, John College will measure the footprint in the near future to ensure compliance. 7 – There was non-conforming waste found (Plastic bottles) that needs to be removed. 8 – Items listed were discussed with H.D. Newbern at his office. 9 – Digital pictures were taken during this Facility Compliance Inspection.
