Subject: Buncombe County Landfill 1107 - Groundwater Monitoring Program
Dear Jackie:
Regulations require background groundwater and surface water testing prior to placement
of waste in landfills including C&D landfills. The recent testing for Cell 6A at the Buncombe
County (County) new landfill indicated unexpected anomalies at MW-17D that we felt
deserved a follow-up sampling/testing event. That effort is completed and the results
confirm that the prior event was likely impacted by the sampling conditions at that location.
The results of the retest are attached and will serve as the background for that well.
