The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 01 - This facility has required signage and has locking gates at the entrance. 02 - The service area is Pasquotank and Camden Counties. 03 - The access roads are constructed of all-weather materials. 04 - Waste is being transported to WM-Atlantic Waste Disposal Landfill in Waverly Va. or transported to East Carolina Regional Landfill (permit# 08-03) in Aulander, Bertie Co. 05 - Leachate tanks are being pumped out on an as needed basis by Albemarle Septic Service, LLC. Tanks inspected daily. Plenty of storage today.

07 - Windblown trash was not an issue at this facility. 08 - Screening records were reviewed and are up to date. 09 - No leaks found from stored trailers waiting to be transported to the Landfill.
10 - The tipping floor is kept clean. Even today with rainy conditions the tipping floor was clean when the un-announced inspection was started.
11 - The trailer loading bay was free of waste and clean during operating hours. 12 - Scrap metal is pulled from the waste stream at this facility and is placed into containers for recycling.
13 - Operating hour for this facility are: Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:30pm and Saturday, 8am to 12pm. 14 - Overall management of this facility is Very Good.
