OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
The required town name was not displayed on both sides of the pumper vehicle in letters three inches or
greater. (See Item 1 in comments page 2)
15A NCAC 13B .0835 TRANSPORTATION OF SEPTAGE
(b) All permitted septage management firms shall display lettering on each side of every pumper vehicle
operated by the firm. The lettering shall include the firm name, town name, phone number, and septage
management firm permit number as shown on the firm application. All lettering required by this Rule on
the pumper vehicle shall be no less than three inches in height and legible, distinguishable from the
background, and not obstructed from view. Identification shall not be removable (i.e. no magnetic signs).
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

1) All lettering indicating firm name, phone number, and septage management firm permit number
were permanently attached to each side of each truck, were plainly visible and met height
requirements at the time of the inspection. The required town name lettering did not meet height
requirements. Photos verifying corrected lettering were received on 5/7/2019.
2) The septage holding tank was constructed of metal and appeared to be structurally sound.
3) The tank was bolted to the truck frame.
4) The septage drain valve appeared to be in working order. No septage leaks were observed.
5) All port covers and caps where in place and appeared to be in proper working order.
