The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 01 - This facility has a locking Gate at roadside entrance for security. 02 - Signage has required information.
03 - Facility is permitted to receive waste from Perquimans, Chowan and Gates Counties. 04 - Waste must be transported to The East Carolina Regional Landfill (0803-MSWLF-1993) in Bertie County. 05 - Windblown trash was not an issue. 06 - Loaded trailers had troughs under the rear door in the event of leakage. None noted. 07 - The tipping floor and loading bay were clean. 08 - Screening records were available and were up to date. 09 - Electronics are being collected at this site. Managed well.
10 - Scrap metal area is also being managed better.
11 - Yard waste is being managed well. Has fire lanes,
12 - Facility has 3 Certified Transfer Station Operations Specialist: Charlie Rome: expires 3/12/2022, David Lowe: expires 5/25/2022 and James Bolen: expires 10/9/2020. 13 - Interior walls of Transfer Station are in need of washing. 14 - Overall management of this facility is good. 15 - Digital pictures taken during this inspection.
