No permit required. The Yard Waste Notification Renewal Form must be submitted each year to the Department of Waste Management by June 1st. every year. Form can be found at; https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/wm_renew_ywn PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: Follow up Inspection STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS: Some issues resolved OBSERVED VIOLATIONS: Pending FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 01 – John College and Andrew met with Ahoskie Staff to address management of this facility. 02 – Staff has made improvements to the facility but more is needed. 03 – Several options were discussed on how to proceed. Site location could be an issue to operate this facility and stay in compliance. May be in 100 year floodplain. 04 – Stormwater drainage has been worked on. 05 – Windrows have been made with fire lanes. 06 – Beneficial fill has been added to low areas. Still has work to be done. 07 – Equipment failure has slowed down the progress on the facility improvements. 08 – There is a conflict on this facility as to a LCID and YWN notification may be on same small site. 09 – LCID and YW has been comingled on the old site. John and Andrew to look up information. 10 – Continue to work on sorting out of the large tree stumps and logs. Using a root rake would speed up this process. 11 – Facility has purchased a temperature probe to start keeping temperature records for the compost in the new windrows. 12 – John College will schedule another site meeting soon. 13 – Please keep records of improvements made to the facility and your required temperature records for review on the next meeting. 14 – Contact John College or Andrew Hammonds with any questions. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
