Dear Mr. Maynard, The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Brownfields Program has received your request to the amend the Brownfields Agreement for the subject Brownfields
Property dated August 3, 2018 and submitted on your behalf by Mr. Thomas Houghton of Swift Creek Environmental, Inc. Per your request and subsequent correspondence, DEQ Brownfields understands that you would like to amend the Brownfields Agreement to include multifamily and/or high density residential use for Parcel A of the Brownfields Property. The next step in the
amendment process is for your selected consultant to provide a work plan detailing the proposed
environmental assessment for the Brownfields Property for DEQ Brownfields review and approval. The results of the additional assessment activities will be utilized to determine what measures may need to be taken to ensure the proposed development is safe for the intended reuse.
