Closure Letter issued 12/2/1998.
PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT:
Partial Inspection
STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
1. RESOLVED: 15A NCAC 13B .0505(5)(b) states: "Surface water shall not be impounded over or in waste." During
the previous inspection on January 30, 2019, areas on top of the landfill were observed where settlement had taken
place and where water had ponded in depressions that resulted from this settlement. On April 18, 2019, Ms. Tinsley
notified the Solid Waste Section (SWS) that the facility grounds maintenance crew had completed repairs. During this
inspection, the areas in the landfill cap that had subsided were found to have been repaired, regraded and seeded so
that the depressions observed previously were no longer evident and new grass was becoming established in these
areas. Therefore, this violation is considered to be resolved.
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
None.
