STATUS OF PERMIT:
Active. The Small Type I facility submitted a new Yard Waste Notification (YWN) form to the Section on 3/6/2019.
PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT:
Partial (New) Site Inspection.
STATUS OF PAST NOTED VIOLATIONS:
Not applicable.
OBSERVED VIOLATIONS:
None.
The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. Site inspection conducted for new YWN site in Old Fort, McDowell County, NC. Site designated as YWN-56-013.
2. Site access is located at 1174 East Main Street (U.S. Highway 70) in Old Fort, NC, behind the Auria manufacturing

plant. The site is adjacent to the Town of Old Fort's Wastewater Treatment Plant.
3. Per the YWN-56-013 New Facility form (submitted on 3/6/19), the facility is permitted to receive woody debris and
"fallen trees from storms". Please ensure as facility operations begin that only permitted solid wastes are received at this
facility.
4. Site access roads were maintained during this inspection.
5. The site appeared to meet all minimum buffer requirements (photos #1 & #2). To ensure maintenance of minimum
buffer requirements at the site, the Section recommends the facility install and maintain buffer stakes/markers at the site.
6. The facility operational area appeared to be less than 2 acres.
7. During this inspection, minimal amounts of woody debris were observed on -site.
8. During this inspection, no unpermitted waste was observed at the site.
9. Continue to ensure surface water is diverted from all operational and storage areas at the site.
10. As site operations begin, ensure access is maintained around the processed and unprocessed material areas at the site
for hot load and/or fire control.
11. Continue to maintain erosion control measures at the site as necessary.
