Hello Brian,
I have completed review of the application for the West Farms Wood Products treatment and processing
facility/Blackwood Solutions, and I have the following comments:
1. Please provide an organizational chart for the owner. A compliance history review questionnaire will be sent to
you shortly.
2. The facility property described in the application, 1683 Barefoot Rd, is owned by Blackwood Solutions, but it is
not the parcel that contains the proposed T&P management area. The T&P area is shown on a map in the
application as being on the adjacent parcel, not owned by Blackwood Solutions. I remember it was mentioned
in the conference call that the adjacent parcel was going to be purchased. Please call to discuss.
3. The land deed provided in the application is for the adjacent parcel to the one containing the proposed T&P
management facility.
4. The floodplain map provided on page 14 of the application should be corrected to show the actual T&P area.
5. After the creosote wood material is ground, would it be stored in containers? If not, there is some concern
about stormwater runoff from the ground creosote material potentially containing petroleum constituents,
which could enter surface water.
6. Does the approximately 2 acre area shown in the application include receiving, processing, and storage of
materials? It seems to be small for the volumes of material described, 2500 tons per week.
Responses to comments should be incorporated into the text of the revised application. If you have any questions
