Tryon Street, Suite 100 Charlotte, NC 28203 tdesa@harthickman.com Subject: Occupancy Approval Belton Street Homes 10A & 10B Belton Street Charlotte, Mecklenburg County Brownfields Project No. 20062-16-060 Dear Mr. DeSa: The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Brownfields Program received and reviewed the Request for Occupancy – One Residential Duplex (Request for Occupancy) for the above referenced addresses on the Belton Street Homes Brownfields Property. DEQ Brownfields understands these townhomes have been developed by David Weekley Homes. DEQ Brownfields reviewed the analytical data and pressure monitoring data provided in the Request for Occupancy. In addition, the analytical data was evaluated using the DEQ Risk Calculator. The results of this evaluation were below the DEQ thresholds for residential use. Based on our evaluation, the DEQ Brownfields Program has determined that Land Use Restriction 8 of the Notice of Brownfields property has been met and approves of the above referenced units for occupancy. This approval is contingent upon submittal of a revised Request for Occupancy which provides a resolution to inspection comments related to piping (December 3, 2018) and alarms (February 28, 2019). These resolutions have already been provided to DEQ Brownfields via email, but should be documented within the revised report. Please note that ongoing monitoring shall be conducted in accordance with the approved Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Plan dated September 27, 2018 and the subsequent approval letter dated November 5, 2018.
