Dear Ms. Drummond,
As authorized by the City of Raleigh (City), URS Corporation -North Carolina (URS) has
prepared this letter report to document the abandonment of groundwater monitoring well MW-10
as approved by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Solid Waste Section on
May 20, 2014. Monitoring well MW-10 had not been sampled since 2011 and had been damaged
beyond repair. Due to the location of the groundwater monitoring well in relation to the edge of
waste, the overhead electrical easement, and the adjacent groundwater monitoring well cluster
(MW-104S, MW-104D), replacement was not requested. The well abandonment record for
monitoring well MW-10 is attached.
