The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Land Application Site consists of Field 1 (6.33 acres) and Field 2 (2.28 acres) for a total of 8.61 usable acres.
2. The site is permitted for land application of domestic septage (including portable toilet waste) and grease septage.
3. The site is located at 7337 Reeps Grove Church Road, Vale, NC and had accessible all-weather roads to the septage land application fields.
4. Appropriate signage was displayed at entrance to the fields.
5. Disposal area boundaries were well delineated with permanent markers in both fields and corresponded to the site map.
6. Field 2 appeared well maintained with a good crop stand. Field 2 is beginning to be overrun with weeds, as a reminder, the nutrient management plan requires areas that develop with less than 80% ground cover by fescue
must be re-seeded. A plan is currently in progress to manage the weeds and re-seed.
7. It appears that all septage discharges must be made within the disposal area boundary.
8. No evidence of standing liquid or pooled waste was observed. The waste appeared to have been evenly distributed throughout the fields.
9. No objectionable odors were observed.
10. The land application was reviewed and appeared to be in order.
