RE: METHANE MONITORING RESULTS — FIRST QUARTERLY EVENT — JANUARY 2019
ROWAN COUNTY LANDFILL, PERMIT NO. 80-03
ROWAN COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA
Dear Jackie,
Attached are the results from the January 15, 2019, quarterly methane monitoring event conducted at the above -
referenced facility. No methane gas was detected in the facility structures during this monitoring event.
Permanent explosive gas monitoring devices are located in the scale -house and maintenance building. No
methane gas was detected in compliance monitoring points at concentrations above the lower explosive limit
(LEL, i.e., 5% methane by volume) during the first quarterly methane monitoring event.
One detection of methane gas at a concentration above the LEL was noted during this monitoring event at
assessment monitoring point MMW-8 as it has been previously. This monitoring location will continue to be
measured during future monitoring events.
The next monitoring event is tentatively scheduled for April 2019. If you have any questions or concerns, please
contact us at 336 852-4903.
Sincerely,
Golder Associates NC, Inc.
