Revised 611512016
On December 5, 2018 at approximately 9:OOam, we noticed a truck carrying cardboard at the stop light
at the entrance to the transfer station. The truck's load was on fire. The driver and the drivers from
another customer (E&Y Landscaping) were using water bottles to try to put the fire out. Kathy called out
over the radio as Courtney called the fire department to get them dispatched. Joe and Tyler came up.
Tyler was directing traffic and Joe used the extinguisher from the scale house to attempt to put out the
fire. A driver for The Trash Company came up with an extinguisher to help. Curtis came up with another
extinguisher since the fire kept re -igniting.
The Mountain Home Fire Department arrived and advised us that they would have them drive the truck
down to the shed once it was out again and cover it in foam and then it could be pulled out to the floor
for disposal.
Truck pulling in load was a 1981 Ford F150 Flatbed
Driver is John B. Josey

The fire started outside the station and was moved when safe to Shed 2 so they could cover it with foam
and safely dispose of it.
Courtney Merrill called 911 to report the fire and have fire department dispatched. Courtney also called
to advise Greg Wiggins of the situation.
Traffic was diverted till fire department arrived. While the fire department was in Shed 2 we resumed
operations for customers. Haulers and dump trucks were sent to Shed 1 as normal and hand unloaders
were diverted to Area 3.
No one was injured, and the truck was able to drive out unassisted after the load was dumped
