Agronomist's Comments: Insufficient information is available regarding the first year availability of nutrients in this material. The nutrient availability reported here is
therefore the TOTAL nutrients in the material. Samples submitted prior to 2016 reported an estimated value rather than total nutrient levels. Please contact me if you have
any questions. Hunter G. Landis 2/16/2018 9:25 AM

Nutrient concentrations and other data on this report are provided so that waste materials can be applied at agronomic rates, thereby supplementing or reducing fertilizer
application and preventing environmental contamination. In reading the Laboratory Results section, remember that materials with < 15% dry matter (generally liquids) are
analyzed as received; all other wastes are dried first. Values in the Estimate of Nutrients Available for First Crop section are based on the type of waste and method of
application you specify and reflects the fact that only 40-60% of the nitrogen becomes available within one year of application. The remainder may or may not ever become
available.

Good afternoon John. Following are the calculations for man made inerts at Guilford College's small type III compost
facility, permit # 4125:
On, or about, February 20, 2018 I conducted the Man Made Inert Analysis on Windrow #29. I collected seven random
samples from various locations within the windrow. The dried samples were mixed and weighted. The sample was then
passed through a 1/4 inch screen and any man made material was removed and weighted. The weight of the man made
material was divided by the total weight of compost collected and multiplied by 100.
Dry compost weight = 24.3 pounds
Inert man made material = 2.5 grams or .0055 pounds
.0055 divided by 24.6 = .0003
.0003 times 100 = .03
=================================================
On July 30, 2018 I collected ten random samples of compost from Windrow #31. The dried samples were mixed and
weighted and passed through a quarter inch screen. Any man made material was collected and weighted. The weight of
the man made material was divided by the total weight of the compost collected and multiplied by 100.
Dry compost weight = 21.7 pounds
Inert man made material = 21.2 grams or .047 pounds
.047 divided by 21.7 = .0022
.0022 times 100 = .22
