SUBJECT: Duke Energy- Rogers Energy Complex Permit Number 8106-INDUS-2009
Industrial Waste Landfill Annual Report Dear Ms. McKee:
Attached is the completed Industrial Landfill Annual Report form for Duke Energy’s Rogers Energy Complex Coal Combustion Products (CCP) Landfill (Permit No. 81-06) for the past year (7/1/2017
to 6/30/2018). During the last twelve month reporting period, the landfill has accepted waste from Duke Energy’s Rogers Energy Complex (formerly Cliffside Steam Station). A total of approximately 403,389 tons of waste was received by the landfill during the most recent twelve-month period. Since the landfill went into operation and through the most recent survey on May 9, 2018, approximately 1,874,448 cubic yards and 2,460,706 tons of waste have been disposed of in the landfill.
As required by G.S. 130A-309.09D(b), the County Manager for any county that generated waste for disposal to this landfill must be sent a copy of the Annual Report. The waste reported in this report was received from Cleveland County. The station lies on the Rutherford/Cleveland County
line and the Permit to Operate for the landfill references Rutherford County. Copies of this Annual Report are therefore provided to the County Managers for Cleveland and Rutherford Counties.
If there are any questions regarding this report, please contact me at (980) 373-2779. Sincerely,
Ryan Czop, Engineer II
