Rickey's Septic Tank Cleaning
427 Williamson Road Danville, VA 24540 Re: Ceased Operation as a Septage Management Firm Rickey's Septic Tank Cleaning – NCS-00057 Dear Mr. Berkley
Recently attempts have been made to reach you regarding the septage management firm permit status for
Rickey's Septic Tank Cleaning. On August 21, 2018, a certified letter was sent to your Danville address to
inform you that The Division of Waste Management, Solid Waste Section, has not received your permit fee
nor an application for a permit. Stipulated in this letter was that, with no receipt of your payment and
application within two (2) weeks of receipt of the letter mentioned above, steps will be taken to close your
firm permit. The purpose of this letter therefore, is to inform you that your records have been removed from our active list of septage management firms as of October 8, 2018. If at any time you wish to continue operation as a Septage Management Firm, you will need to apply for a new permit in accordance with the septage management rules prior to starting to operate. Please note that you may not legally operate a septage management firm in North Carolina without a permit. General Statutes, GS 130A-291.1 (c) No septage management firm shall commence or continue
operation that does not have a permit issued by the Department. The permit shall be issued only when the
septage management firm satisfies all of the requirements of the rules adopted by the Commission.
General Statutes, GS 130A-291.1 (c) Commission. A septage management firm that commences operation
without first having obtained a permit shall cease to operate until the firm obtains a permit under this
section. You are hereby advised that, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to
$15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Statute or Regulations. If you have any questions in this matter, please feel free to contact me at 919-707-8285. Sincerely, Jeffrey Bullard, Environmental Specialist II
