Dear Al:

Attached to this letter is the landfill gas migration monitoring results for the second
quarterly event of 2014 at the Piedmont Landfill in Kernersville, North Carolina. Ten permanent
gas probes, eighteen bar-hole probes, and one on-site structure were monitored on May 21, 2014,
and up-loaded to the WM Landfill Gas Management System (LGMS). The request to have
GP-10 removed from the compliance monitoring network for the site due to historical detections
attributed to the Kernersville Closed MSWLF was approved in a letter from the North Carolina
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) dated January 21, 2014. The exempt
status of GP-10 may need to be updated by an authorized individual in the LGMS to prevent
triggering an exceedence or non-compliance report. There was no exceedence of the LEL in the
compliance network or on-site structure.

A copy of this report should be kept on file for the facility. If you have any needs, such as
additional copies, or a report to be sent to DENR for informational purposes following your
