This is a violation of Rule .0844(b) that states “All permitted septage management firms shall display decals or lettering on each side of every pumper vehicle operated by the firm. The decals or lettering shall include the name, address (town name), phone number, and septage management firm permit number. All decals or lettering on the pumper vehicle shall be no less than three inches in height and plainly visible. Identification shall be permanently attached (i.e., no removable signs).” The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules. Previous tank and body attached to a used truck chassis (1997 Freightliner). 2) Truck had the required lettering on both sides of the truck. However, some of the lettering was less than three (3) inches in height which is a violation of Rule .0844(b) as stated above in the “Observed Violation” section. The letters for “Concrete” of the firm name, the town name, and phone number were less than three (3) inches in height. The letters for “Concrete,” town name, and phone number need to be at least three (3) inches in height on both sides of the truck. Please complete this work within two weeks. When completed, take pictures of both sides of the truck to show that the letters are at least three (3) inches in height. Use a measuring tape to show that the letters are at least 3 inches. Email the pictures the pictures to me at chester.cobb@ncdenr.gov. 3) Tank appeared to be structurally sound. 4) Tank was bolted to the frame of the truck. 5) All valves and access ports appeared to be in working order. 6) Caps present on the ports used in pumping. 7) No leaks noticed. 8) Truck logs not inspected. 0BPicture of pump truck (driver side). 1BPicture of pump truck (passenger side).
