AREAS OF CONCERN AND COMMENTS:
1) “No Trespassing” signage present. 2) Tanks accessible for inspection.
3) Tanks appeared to be structurally sound. No leaks noticed. Some of the piping between tanks was
cracked. Be sure to check piping for problems before transferring septage. 4) No septage spills noticed on the ground by the tanks or on the tanks. The screening tanks need to be
pumped out.
5) No odor or vector issues noticed. 6) No change noticed that would affect any of the setback distances.
7) Site did not appear to be in use on a regular basis. Some septage in most of the tanks. Septage cannot just stay in the tanks indefinitely. Septage Management Rule .0841(r) states that “Septage shall not be stored in a detention or treatment facility for more than six months.”
8) Some type of barrier such as a chain is needed around the concrete tanks. 9) Was not able to drive to tanks. Access road had washed out at the ditch due to Hurricane Matthew.
Access road needs to be repaired.
