ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. This facility consists of one 4,825-gallon, steel lined in ground pit for the storage and solidification of domestic septage, grease trap pumpings and commercial/industrial septage. The pit was not being used at the time of inspection. Two additional steel-lined, in ground pits were observed that had been constructed on site. A permit
application has been submitted to the division. 2. The waste handling and solidification operations at the Shamrock Environmental facility located on Corporation
Park Drive include only a small amount of septage waste and grease trap waste. Most operations at the site involve other non-hazardous waste materials.
3. The facility has current disposal agreements for solidified waste at First Piedmont MSW Landfill and Uwharrie Environmental MSW Landfill.
4. Approved setbacks appear to have been met for the original pit. The additional pits were not evaluated by the Division for setback requirements before installation, it is the responsibility of the permittee to ensure compliance.
In addition, usage of the pits to store or treat septage without receiving a permit can result in violations being
incurred.
5. Appropriate signs are present. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this inspection report.
