ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Detention and Treatment facility (SDTF) consisted of four 1,000 gallon buried concrete tanks, five 1,200 buried concrete tanks and one 20,000 buried concrete tank for the detention of domestic septage and
grease trap pumpings (including the passive separation of grease). 2. Setback requirements appear to have been met.
3. Appropriate signage was posted for the site.
4. All weather roads were maintained for access to the site. 5. The tanks appeared to be structurally sound and well maintained.
6. The area around the detention and treatment area was found to be free of spills and debris. As a reminder,
excess vegetation must be cleared five feet behind the tanks.
7. No odors observed in the area of the detention and treatment area.
8. As a treatment facility, records must be maintained and kept up to date as required by 15A NCAC 13B .0841 (v) which states:
“Record keeping for treatment facilities shall include: (1) Date septage is received at the facility;
