The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit, or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1. The Septage Detention and Treatment facility (SDTF) consisted of one 8,000-gallon, one 10,500-gallon with a 2,400-gallon overflow tank and one 16,000-gallon steel tank. All Tanks are above ground with a total site capacity
of 36,000 gallons for the storage and treatment of domestic septage and grease trap pumpings.
2. Setback requirements appear to have been met.

3. Appropriate signage (No Trespassing signs) was posted for the site.
4. All weather roads were maintained for access to the site.
5. The tanks appeared to be structurally sound and well maintained.
6. The area around the detention and treatment area was found to be free of spills and debris.
7. As a treatment facility, records must be maintained as required by 15A NCAC 13B .0841 (v) which states:

“Record keeping for treatment facilities shall include: (1) Date septage is received at the facility;
(2) Name of the septage management firm that delivered the septage;
(3) Type and amount, in gallons, of septage received; (4) Date processed material(s) is removed from the facility;
(5) Type and amount, in tons or gallons, of material removed from the facility; and
(6) Management methods for each type of material removed by the facility”
An example of a septage treatment facility log is included with this report. 8. No odors observed around the tanks.
9. As a reminder, vegetation and debris must be kept away from the tanks to a distance of 5 feet.
