ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
1.) A “Notice of Ceased Operation of a Septage Detention and Treatment Facility” form was received by the Solid
Waste Section for this facility. This inspection was performed to determine if the facility met the conditions for
final closure.
2.) All tanks and associated piping had been removed from the facility.
3.) The sump area to lift dewatered effluent into the city sewer system had been filled with concrete. The pipe
leading to the sanitary sewer system had been capped.
4.) During the inspection on June 16, 2014, 2 hoses associated with septage/grease transfer were still observed on
site. Inspection of the facility on July 18, 2014 found that all hoses had been removed.
5.) Inspection of the facility on June 16, 2014 found that residue observed during the previous inspection had been
removed. However, additional residues were observed at the back of the facility at the location formerly
occupied by the storage tanks. It appeared that this material was previously obstructed from view by shelving.
Inspection of the facility on July 18, 2014 found that all residues previously observed had been
removed.
6.) Waste items associated with facility cleanup were observed on the ground at the back of the facility during the
May 30, 2014 inspection. Inspection of the facility on June 16, 2014 and July 18, 2014 found that all
aforementioned wastes had been properly removed from the property.
