ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
On May 24, 2018, John Patrone conducted a comprehensive inspection of the G&L Landfill – LCID Landfill on
Anthony Road in Kernersville, Guilford County.
1. The G&L Landfill – Land Clearing and Inert Debris (LCID) Landfill is on the right, via metal gate, prior to the
paved road becoming a gravel road.
2. The LCID landfill is < 2 acres. The facility maintains a landfill survey plat [reviewed during the September 2017
inspection].
3. The LCID landfill is no longer in operation.
4. Mr. Gravley stated, via telephone conversation with Mr. Patrone on January 19, 2018, that the LCID landfill will
be closed.
5. Mr. Thomas stated, via telephone conversation with Mr. Patrone on May 18, 2018, that the LCID landfill ceased
accepting solid waste in December 2017 and that the landfill is covered with soil and graded appropriately and
that grass seed was sown in April 2018.
6. Mr. Patrone conducted an inspection of the LCID landfill on May 24, 2018. The landfill appeared inactive. No
solid waste was visible. The fill area was covered with soil, graded, and contained vegetative cover material.
7. There was no indication of erosion or runoff.
8. The facility is secured by a locked metal gate.
9. The facility has a proper sign.

The item(s) listed above were observed by Section staff and require action on behalf of the facility in order to come into or maintain compliance
with the Statutes, Rules, and/or other regulatory requirements applicable to this facility. Be advised that pursuant to N.C.G.S. 130A-22, an
administrative penalty of up to $15,000 per day may be assessed for each violation of the Solid Waste Laws, Regulations, Conditions of a Permit,
or Order under Article 9 of Chapter 130A of the N.C. General Statutes. Further, the facility and/or all responsible parties may also be subject to
enforcement actions including penalties, injunction from operation of a solid waste management facility or a solid waste collection service and any
such further relief as may be necessary to achieve compliance with the North Carolina Solid Waste Management Act and Rules.
