FACILITY COMPLIANCE INSPECTION REPORT Division of Waste Management Solid Waste Section Page 2 of 2 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 1. This Septage Detention and Treatment facility (SDTF) consisted of one 1,500-gallon and one 7,000-gallon above ground poly tanks for a total capacity of 8,500 gallons for the storage of domestic septage (including portable toilet waste) and grease trap pumpings. 2. It appears that set-back/buffer requirements appear to have been met. 3. Appropriate signage (No Trespassing signs) is posted for the site. 4. All weather roads are maintained for access to the site. 5. The tanks appeared to be structurally sound and well maintained. 6. The area around the detention and treatment area was found to be free of spills and debris 7. No objectionable odors observed around the tanks. 8. The possibility of moving the tank a few feet was raised to make it easier to load/unload. Moving the tanks only a few feet would still be within the setback requirements. 9. The possibility if a new underground concrete tank was also raised. A new underground tank would require a permit revision. In addition, a leak test would be required as per 15A NCAC 13B .0836 (k).
